We reconfigured and automated the lower stands to move you closer to the action.

After completion of the 2000 Olympic Games, reconfiguring commenced to suit the future uses of the stadium. SRG were awarded the contract to design and complete the operation of moving 7 lower tier segments each approximately 15m towards the field.

The works involved preparing over 2km of temporary track on which to slide the segments. Each segment was supported on 18 or 39 columns depending upon its location. Columns were individually jacked, and in some cases jacked simultaneously, to allow for replacement of the stub column with a special sliding shoe.
